About this product
A filter purifier that runs while you are in the room.
HEPA H13 and activated carbon filters, a colour air quality ring, an auto mode and a 22 dB sleep mode.
This is a filter based air purifier: a fan draws the room's air through a filter and puts it back out, so it runs while you are in the room.
The filter has three layers, a HEPA H13 layer and activated carbon among them, and the unit carries a UV lamp. The manufacturer states a clean air delivery rate of 230 cubic metres an hour.
A sensor lights a ring blue, orange or red, auto mode sets the fan speed from what the sensor reads, and sleep mode brings it down to 22 dB.
This is the machine for a room you are actually in. A fan pulls air through a filter and pushes it back out, which is a different job from the ozone generator on this store: that one runs only in an empty space, and this one is made to run while people are there.
The filter is a three layer cartridge with a HEPA H13 layer and an activated carbon layer, and the unit also carries a UV lamp. We describe what is in the machine; we do not quote a capture rate, a kill rate or a health effect, because we have no test data of our own to stand behind.
The manufacturer states a clean air delivery rate of 230 cubic metres an hour, which they put at about four air changes an hour in a 20 square metre bedroom and three in a 25 square metre living room. We quote those as their figures. It suits a bedroom, a home office, a small shop or a treatment room.
A sensor on the top lights a ring blue for good, orange for moderate and red for poor, so you can see what it is reading without an app. Auto mode sets the fan speed from that reading and drops it back when the air reads clean. Sleep mode runs it at 22 dB, which is very quiet, and it draws 34 W.
The filter is the part you replace, every 3 to 6 months depending on how hard it works. The unit reminds you when it is due, and the filter comes out by a handle on the side, one handed.
Still deciding?
Not sure yet? That is fine.
You can change your mind. Irish and EU law give you 14 days from delivery on an online purchase, and our own policy gives you 15 days from delivery, on any unused item in its original packaging; you pay the return postage and there is no handling fee.
If it turns up faulty, damaged or not as described, that is on us: a repair, a replacement or a refund, and we pay the return postage. Your rights under the Irish Consumer Rights Act 2022 are not limited by anything on this page. Read the detail on our refunds and returns page, or ask us anything before you order.
A filter based tower purifier. A fan draws the room's air through a filter and puts it back out.
Can I be in the room while it runs?
Yes. It is made to run in an occupied room, which is the difference between this and the ozone machine we also sell.
What filter does it use?
A three layer cartridge that includes a HEPA H13 layer and an activated carbon layer.
What does HEPA H13 mean?
It is a filter class, a grade of fine particle filter. We state the class the manufacturer gives and do not quote a capture percentage of our own.
What is the carbon layer for?
Activated carbon is the layer used for odours and smells in filter purifiers. We do not publish a result figure for it.
Does the UV lamp kill germs?
We make no germicidal claim for the UV lamp. It is part of the unit, and we describe it as present and nothing more.
Will it kill bacteria or viruses?
We make no such claim for this product.
Will it help with allergies or asthma?
We make no health claim for it. If you have a respiratory condition, that is a conversation with a doctor rather than a shop.
What size room is it for?
The manufacturer states a clean air delivery rate of 230 cubic metres an hour, which they put at about four air changes an hour in a 20 square metre room and three in a 25 square metre room.
What is CADR?
Clean air delivery rate: how much filtered air the unit puts out per hour. 230 m³ per hour is the manufacturer's stated figure.
How quiet is it?
22 dB in sleep mode, which is very quiet. Higher fan speeds are louder, as with any purifier.
What does the coloured ring mean?
Blue means the sensor reads good air, orange moderate and red poor. It changes as the reading changes.
What does auto mode do?
It sets the fan speed from the sensor's reading, running harder when the air reads worse and dropping back when it reads clean.
How much power does it use?
34 W, as the listing states it.
How often do I change the filter?
Every 3 to 6 months, depending on how hard it works. The unit shows a reminder when it is due.
How do I change the filter?
Pull the handle on the side, slide the old filter out and the new one in. It is a one handed job.
Do you sell replacement filters?
Not as a listed product. Ask us through the contact page and we will tell you what we can source.
How big is it?
31.5 x 16 x 36.5 cm, and it weighs 3.25 kg.
What colour is it?
White.
Is it an ozone generator?
No. On this store the Commercial Air Purifier is a filter unit. The ozone machine is a separate product for empty rooms only.
Does it produce ozone?
It is sold as a filter purifier, not an ozone generator. The listing does not state an ozone figure for it.
Can I use it in a shop, salon or small office?
Yes, a small commercial room is a common use. Check the room size against the stated air delivery rate.
Can I leave it running all day?
Yes. A filter purifier is meant to run for long periods, and auto mode drops the fan back when the air reads clean.
Can I leave it on overnight in a bedroom?
Yes. Sleep mode is made for that, at 22 dB.
Does it need installing?
No. Plug it in, take the filter out of its bag if it is packed separately, and switch it on.
Where should I put it?
On the floor or a low surface with space around it, so it can draw air in and push it out freely.
What is the difference between this and the Air Cleaner Purifier?
This is a full sized tower for a room of about 20 to 25 square metres. The Air Cleaner Purifier is a small desk unit for about 10 square metres.
How long does delivery take?
Delivery across Ireland takes 5 to 7 days after a 24 to 48 hour handling time. It is free on orders of €50 or more; below that the only option is Express Delivery at €22, which you can also choose on any order as a paid delivery option. No faster transit time is promised for Express Delivery.
Can I return it if I change my mind?
Yes. Irish and EU law give you 14 days from delivery to change your mind on an online purchase, and our own policy goes one day further: 15 days from delivery, on an unused item in its original packaging. You pay the cost of sending it back, and the refund follows within 14 days once it arrives. If something is faulty, not as described or never arrives, your rights under the Irish Consumer Rights Act 2022 are unaffected. See the refunds and returns page.
Do you sell these in quantity?
Yes. Use the wholesale quote page with the number you need.
The complete guide
Choosing and running a filter air purifier
3 min readCO2 Company Ireland
What this page does not tell you
It does not give you a capture percentage, a kill rate or a health claim. The manufacturer
publishes a filter class and an air delivery rate, and we quote those as their figures. We have
no test data of our own, so there is nothing more on this page than what we can stand behind.
Size it by the room
The number that matters is the clean air delivery rate: 230 cubic metres an hour for this unit.
The manufacturer puts that at about four air changes an hour in a 20 square metre room and three
in a 25 square metre room. A bigger room simply gets fewer changes an hour, so if the room is
much larger than that, it is the wrong size of machine for it.
Where to put it
Give it space. A purifier draws air in and pushes it out, and one pushed into a corner or behind
a sofa moves far less air than its rating says. On the floor or a low surface, with clear space
around it, is the right place.
Leave it running
A filter purifier works over time, not in a burst. Auto mode is the easy setting: it runs harder
when the sensor reads worse and drops back when the air reads clean. At night, sleep mode brings
it down to 22 dB.
The filter is the running cost
The filter is what does the work, and it fills up. Plan on a new one every 3 to 6 months,
depending on how hard it runs. The reminder on the unit tells you when.
If what you want to know is whether a room is getting enough fresh air, that is a ventilation
question, and a CO2 monitor answers it for much less money.
Tell us the room, how many people use it and what you are trying to find out, and we will tell you whether this is the one that fits. Free delivery across Ireland on orders of €50 or more.
