Why rooms dry out
Heating warms the air without adding any water to it, and warm air can hold far more
moisture than cold air. So the same amount of water vapour that felt fine in a cool room
reads as dry once the heating has been on for an evening. That is the winter pattern in
many Irish houses, and it is what a humidifier corrects.
Use the sensor, not the maximum setting
A humidifier that runs flat out does not know when to stop. The point of a built in sensor
and an auto mode is that you set a target and the machine holds it. Something between 40 and
